How we handle your details

What we do with the details you send us, how long we keep them, and how to ask us to delete them. Written in plain English rather than legal language, because it is meant to be read.

Who we are

The business responsible for your information

Ryan Godby, trading as All Waste Removals & Clearance, is the data controller for the information collected through this website. The business is based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, and is a registered upper tier waste carrier, registration number CBDU649960.

What we collect

The information you give us

We only hold what you send us. There is no tracking, no profiling and no data bought in from anywhere else.

The enquiry form on the home page asks for your name, phone number, postcode, what needs clearing, roughly when, and anything else you want to add. Name, phone number, postcode and what needs clearing are the required fields. There is no photo upload on this website.

If you phone us, message us on WhatsApp or email us, we hold that correspondence in the ordinary way any business does. Photos you send on WhatsApp arrive on our phone like any other message. The WhatsApp app itself is run by Meta under its own privacy policy, which is separate from ours.

Why we hold it

What we use it for, and on what basis

We use what you send us to answer your enquiry, work out a price and arrange the work. That is all. We do not sell it, we do not pass it to marketing companies, and we will not add you to a mailing list off the back of an enquiry.

Where you have asked us for a price, our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Where you have made a general enquiry, our lawful basis is legitimate interests, being our interest in responding to someone who has asked us to get in touch.
Where we already hold records because we have carried out work for you, we also process them to meet our legal obligations, including the waste transfer notes we are required to keep and our tax records.

Who else handles your information

Running a website means a small number of suppliers necessarily touch the data. We use as few as we can, and none of them are advertising companies.

Cloudflare hosts this website and keeps the simple tally of enquiries and link taps described under Cookies below.
Resend delivers the enquiry email from the website to our inbox.
Google Workspace is where our email lives once it arrives.

Each of these acts on our instructions. Some of them process data outside the UK, which is normal for internet infrastructure and is covered by the safeguards those providers have in place.

How long we keep it

Retention

Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept only as long as we might reasonably still be talking to you about the job, and then deleted. If we do carry out work for you, we keep the job records, including the waste transfer note, for as long as we are required to for waste duty of care and tax purposes.

You can ask us to delete anything sooner. See below.

What this site puts on your device

This website sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies of its own. There is nothing here following you around the internet, which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner.

The one exception is the Facebook feed on the home page. It does not load when the page opens. Nothing is requested from facebook.com until you tap the button marked "Show our Facebook page". If you do tap it, the feed loads from Facebook and Facebook (Meta) may then set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. If you do not tap it, nothing from Facebook loads.

Our host, Cloudflare, may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep the site secure and working properly. Those are exempt from the consent rules because the site cannot be delivered safely without them.

We do keep a simple tally of how many people send an enquiry or tap the call, WhatsApp or email links, so we can tell whether the website is actually doing its job. Each entry records the type of link or form, the page, the time, and for enquiries the first half of your postcode and what you asked about. It does not record who you are, and it puts nothing on your device.

Your rights

What you can ask us to do

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to us holding it at all. You can also ask for it in a portable format.

Email [email protected] or call 07384 008814 and we will deal with it. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
